Our used Forester experienced issues once it reached the six-figure mileage, and so one sunny Sunday we sauntered back into Subaru for the second consecutive time. The first to greet us was a young man named Faraz Ahmed who, with energetic charisma and charm, found a way to make us feel welcomed by instantly memorizing our names and assuring us that he would be with us right away, despite the fact that he had clients seated at his desk, while another set of clients were returning from test driving a car, and a final client was arriving for a scheduled appointment from out of town. In other words, on that day, Subaru was extremely understaffed, because (I later learned from Faraz with an apologetic explanation) three different employees had called in. However, you would never have known. It takes the smooth multitasking of a Michelin-starred restaurant's waiter to pull off what Faraz did that day. Somehow, despite all the obstacles Faraz faced that day--the kind of obstacles that would have caused me, a high school teacher, to be red-faced with frustration--he helped us test drive two cars. We needed a night to think it over, and the next day, we decided on leasing a brand new, premium 2025 Forester. Throughout the entire transaction, Faraz made us feel like we were his friends as he educated us on every aspect of the car. Finally, once we were seated inside the car beside the dealership, ready to drive off into the sunset, Faraz, in the backseat, carefully went over every aspect of the technology of the car, giving us his cell phone number at the end in case we had any questions. The promise was sincere. Since then, I have texted my friend at Subaru and always, with promptness, he replies. If I could buy another car from Faraz, I would. Shout out to Max Pierce, the sales manager, who warmly greeted us and, at the end of our transaction, genuinely thanked us for our patience during the low-staffed Sunday and for choosing Subaru for the second time. And the finance manager with the sleek touchscreen you sign all the paperwork on, Craig Tomkins, who was not only an expert in all aspects of the fine print, but made the final step in the transaction enjoyable. By the end of the entire experience, I felt like buying the staff at Subaru a few boxes of pizza. Thanks again, Faraz and team Subaru!
